After walking a good stretch of the Thames Path in London we needed to re-fuel, and what better way to do this than with burgers? We headed to the Southbank and found Bleecker St., only a few minutes walk from Waterloo station.
Having salivated over the photos they post on social media for the last couple of years, I was quite excited to sink my teeth into one of their burgers: the Bleecker Black. What is so interesting about this burger is that it has black pudding wedged between the two beef patties.
Order in and a five minute wait later, I finally got my burger! Sean ordered the same, so it was a quick £20 to drop for both of them. But look…
Cooked medium rare unless you request otherwise, the burgers are truly beautiful to behold. The pink patties make the contrast between beef and black pudding even more pronounced, and you also get little glimpses of cheese against the bun.
It’s a proper meat overdose, and I could’ve comfortably eaten just one half due to the richness of the black pudding. Yet the melt-in-your-mouth beef patties just keep you coming back for more!
Both of us had a lot of love for the Bleecker Black burger and we would go back for more, for sure. Go eat one (or at least half of one before you start complaining that you’re getting full) and treat yourself to some burger lovin’.
Bleecker St. can be found at a few locations, but we went Under the Bridge, Riverside Level, Royal Festival Hall, The Queen’s Walk, London, SE1 8XX. Bleecker St. is open daily 11:30am – 11pm. This review took place on September 11th 2016.
